Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin is a Canadian and New Zealand actress. Born in Winnipeg and was raised in Wellington Paquin began her acting debut as Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 11, making her the second-youngest winner to win an award within Oscar history. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster in the category of Best Supporting actress for acting as the bright and interesting daughter of Holly Hunter's main character on the film The Piano. Following a prompt for auditions, she was able to audition when she was nine, and with little prior experience acting the actress was chosen for Flora McGrath's role. Flora was the daughter of a Scottish musician who was blind. The couple relocated to New Zealand during the middle of the nineteenth century to plan a wedding. In her teens she emigrated to the United States. Paquin played a minor role in the film's title role when she was a child on Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) as well as a lead part in the film Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin was a part-time actress in the television movie of 1997 version to Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. The actress also played the Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). She played teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000) and A Walk on the Moon (2000). She portrayed the role of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa on Almost Famous (2000).
